PolyglotPolyglot
Read the web in your language, with your own model.
Polyglot adds translations alongside supported webpage text and lets you translate a selected sentence or paragraph. Connect a compatible cloud API, Ollama, or LM Studio. The extension is free; your provider may charge for API usage. No included cloud credits or Polyglot subscription are offered in the first release.
The first Chrome Web Store release is being prepared. A store installation link will be added after approval.
Simple reading tools
- Translate supported page text progressively, with original text and translations together.
- Select text and click the floating button, or hover deliberately to translate.
- Switch back to the original, cancel a running task, or hide the progress panel.
- Choose an English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish interface.
You choose the endpoint
Text goes directly to the model endpoint you configure. The developer has no translation backend receiving your text. Saved API keys are encrypted locally. External providers apply their own data policies; a local tool may also forward requests according to its configuration.
PDFs, image text, video subtitles, browser-protected pages, and automatic infinite-scroll translation are not supported in this release. Translation quality depends on the chosen model. Long pages are limited to 280 detected text blocks per run; selection translation accepts up to 5000 UTF-16 code units.
